CASE STUDY: TOWNHOUSES,  ANNANDALE

An infill scheme was developed on an old industrial site in Trafalgar St, Annandale providing 18 two storey two bedroom townhouses with a central open garden area.

The design responded to streetscape elements in adjoining buildings and the nearby adaptive re-use of the old piano factory.

Construction was in load bearing masonry with trussed tile roofing. Car parking and stormwater detention was underground.

CASE STUDY: VILLAS, NAROOMA

Azure carried out the site planning on a sloping site of unusual boundary configuration for 24 single and two storey villas.

Brief: A range of simple repetitive house types developed for low cost retirement housing using a combination of tilt-up wall panels and framed upper floors and roof systems.

Stormwater, sewer, water and electrical services were located in common community areas to minimise the need for multiple easements.

CASE STUDY: CLUSTER HOUSING, THORNLEIGH

The steeply sloping site adjoining Pennant Hills park bushland posed a design and construction challenge. 28 cluster houses (duplexed villas) single and two storey duplexed villas gave the best site fit and met Hornsby Council’s planning controls. The buildings were constructed over two strata stages. The development won an Excellence in Housing Award from the Master Builders Association.
